a bit (a lot) behind on posting. got to catch up with old colleagues from all over, go to a washington spirit game (we miss you rodman!) and hang out in columbus (which is really starting to grow on me) with my favorite friends who also happen to love concerts. turns out i'm not as big of a fontaines dc fan as they are, but it was still a great weekend and always fun to see a new venue.

went to some sportsball games with my sportsball friend and somehow managed to get bitten by the escalator. still unclear how that happened, but i know this would have never happened if i was wearing my birks.

i'm allergic to layovers and addicted to trains so instead of trying to run through heathrow or schipol on my way to luxembourg, i figured i'd grab brunch in brussels (fabulous) with a quick stop in liege (less interesting). i rented one of those locker things to store my bags in brussels and was only anxious for about 75minutes of the 90 that i had rented the locker for, but it all worked out (despite a man just lingering around and me not processing that until ~15min later). at some point i will develop a ranked list of countries by how easy it is to send postcards from and somewhere at the top will be belgium. i chatted with a super sweet shop owner who told me all about cuberdons (bc i try very hard not to show up empty handed with the engineers) and found an awesome sweatshirt that reminds me of my youth. overall, recommend belgium (based on my experience in the least recommended cities by my colleagues). only flew 10,000mi this month (somehow managed to do 16k in april!?) and am at the age where compression socks are a thing. still able to escape jetlag, however i don't think i will be flying economy basic on any united flights after this.
