tired of using a platform run by an ethically deranged white dude. here it is, first stab at a new path to recording some of my fondest moments. some of my 2025 highlights to date.

kicked the new year off in toronto with my favorite concert friends watching an AWESOME 80s cover band. it was my first trip to canada for more than a meal and i have some thoughts (aside from the poutine being fantastic). loved the exchange rate and how friendly everyone was. getting post card stamps was super easy, finding a place to drop mail off was nothing short of an adventure. didn't love that everyone threw their drinks on the concert floor making it a slip n slide but did love that the coat check was completely cashless and super secure. 10/10 would recommend.

cropped my hair for some change and finally learned how to use a curling iron, sort of. made my way over to paris to see old friends, eat escargot and all the madeleines I could find, and stock up on sezane. i took the metro (i still don't know how to load my card), went to a museum, and only spent half the trip monitoring the wildfires and my family. it was my second trip to the city of light and i grew to love the walkability (ok, and the shopping). could have done without all the smoking.

had a short layover in London on my way home, first time on the eurostar (which was fabulous! best way to travel ever!) ran around harrod's and enjoyed the interior architecture, tried to go to mari vanna (no dice, ressie only i suppose), got my steps in at hyde park, and saw some mini coops kiss.

had the best time with friends visiting from tucson, chicago, and seattle. spent a night co-babysitting a real baby! we both survived the evening, phew.

spent the most amount of money one can spend in the shortest time period possible: a visit to the ER. on the plus side, i got confirmation that my brain is fine (many falls + weird headache in december + being a hypochondriac) but spent a small fortune (and got some really cool art!) in the process.

ree

got a new job working in the space industry (thrilled to be back! also thrilled to be out of a nuclear level toxic work environment!), went to tokyo and got to see my old officemate and obvs have the best food ever and use the nicest toilets on this planet.

ree

spent a weekend in columbus celebrating a 50th birthday - made new friends while getting to spend time with old ones. people i am really starting to miss when i don't see them after more than a few weeks.

had a quick stop in denver for some snow and hung around DC and pretended to be domestic. dying at a faster rate with the recent changes to the district (and country). my days here may be limited, but i continue to love and build the best girl gang to ever exist.
